Townsmen is a big game with a lot of content and requires time and patience. A story runs through the campaign, with quite a decent plot. The tutorial is spread over 6 campaign levels this cannot be completed in an hour's demo and may leave you floundering around, but if you like city building and micromanagement, then stick with it! There’s a built-in guide (the encyclopedia) to help you figure things out. Townsmen has lovely graphics and a user-friendly, intuitive interface. Scratches a city building itch I was delighted and surprised to see such an in-depth city builder/economy game like this on BF. I definitely think if you like this type of game, take a chance on it as 60 minutes is not enough time to realize just how much there is to this game. I've been playing for a massive amount of hours now and I've past the 6 tutorial quests and have moved onto other quests now. Since I don't read instructions anyway, yes, there were things that confused me, but I was able to figure them out and then there is more instruction, you just have to find it.īasically for a 1 credit game, this so outdoes all the CE's which are so played out and so redundant. There are the main challenges and then sub challenges. Have to get past the Demo Well, I used to love Sim City if that tells you what you need to know? If you love a sim game where you build a city, the demo isn't time enough to really get into this game.

Otherwise, I believe this would be a game that I'd return to for years to come. It simply takes the fun and challenge out of the game so there is no point in playing it again. points It's the equivalent of winning Monopoly once and then every time you play again, you start with all of your properties and money from your winning game. I could play this game for AGES if only I were able to start as a "newbie" instead of with literal weeks of built-up experience.

There is simply no challenge once you have maxed your experience points and there is no way to wipe the slate clean as far as I cant tell. *I* cannot play the game again for the same reason. This issue makes for several problems: Nobody else in my family can play the game because all of my accomplishments are in effect, essentially removing the challenge. You're never asked for a "Player Name" so you can't have multiple players. The player can go back and repeat quests or scenarios but the challenge isn't there because all of the earned experience points are still in effect. As in, I have actually finished this game and wanted to start again and have no way to do so! However, even after uninstalling and reinstalling, I cannot rid the game of my own original accomplishments. It literally kept me busy for a few WEEKS. Music and graphics are amazing, story line is good, "enemy" dialogue is hysterical, and overall it's one of the best games I've purchased. Love it, but can't "start" again Everything positive that I could say about this game has already been said.
